Kelly Edgerton
CROSS-COUNTRY & TRACK
PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

Kelly Edgerton (Richards) was a dominant runner for PLU after outstanding years in cross-country and track at Wenatchee High School. She earned a total of five All-America honors as a member of Lutes cross-country and track teams.

Kelly was a member of Pacific Lutheran's 1988 NAIA national championship cross-country squad and twice earned All-America recognition as a harrier with an 11th place individual finish in 1989 and a 5th place finish in 1990. She also won the individual conference crown in 1990.

Her dominance was even more evident in track with a 1989 NCIC performance that stands as one of the best in Lutes history after claiming conference titles in the 800, 1500 and 3000 meter races. She proceeded to earn All-America recognition in both the 1500 (2nd at the NAIA National Championships) and 3000 (4th). Kelly successfully defended her NCIC titles in the 1500 and 3000 each of the next two years to total seven conference titles. She also won a pair of NAIA district championships in the 1500 and 3000 in 1989.

As of induction in 2014, Kelly's times still rank among the best in track program history. She is second all-time in the 3000 (9:43.66 in 1991), fourth in both the 1500 (4:28.34 in 1991) and the 5000 (17:15.33 in 1989), and sixth in the 800 (2:13.64 in 1991).
