Shane Cass
CLASS of 1991 Wrestling and Football ATHLETE
Best known for his dominance as a wrestler, Shane was a powerful athlete with superior technique on the mat. His senior year as a grappler culminated by becoming the first Panther state champion in nineteen years after winning the 190-lb. title. Previously, Shane was a regional champion both as a junior and senior, as well as a two-time "All-Big 9" selection, team captain and WHS wrestling MVP.

A two-year starting lineman in football, he served as team captain. Shane earned five varsity letters and received the "Panther Best" award his senior year. He was selected as the "NCW Sports Awards High School Male Athlete of the Year" in 1991.

Shane was a junior college "All-American" wrestler while attending North Idaho Community College after placing fifth at the national tournament. He transferred to Cornell University where he was an "Honorable Mention NCAA All-American" and served as team captain his senior year.
