CLASS of 2000 Cross-country and Track ATHLETE
With incredible stamina, Heidi was a natural at running long distances. She immediately proved to be among the best as a frosh by placing 49th at the state cross-country meet. As a 'seasoned sophomore', Heidi became an elite harrier with a fourth place finish, and matched that performance the next year. She closed out state cross-country meet competition by finishing fifth.

Heidi's accomplishments as a harrier also included a district championship and four first team "All-Big 9" berths. She was conference "Runner of the Year" as a sophomore, team "Most Valuable Runner" three times, set a school record for 3.1 miles, tied the standard for 3.0 miles, and was three-year team captain.

In track, Heidi won district and regional titles at 3200 and 1600 meters, and was "All-Big 9" in both events. She set the WHS record in the 3200 at 11:01.71 and was track team captain for three years while receiving numerous team awards.

Heidi excelled academically with a 4.0 grade point average. In all, she earned eight letters and was named "Panther Best" as a senior.

At Montana State University, Heidi competed in cross-country and track. She placed as high as 13th at the Big Sky Cross-Country Championships and was among the school's all-time fastest distance runners. Heidi was a two-time finalist for "NCW Sports Awards."
