Jacob Sealby
CLASS of 2010 Football, Track and Wrestling ATHLETE
Trying to identify which was Jacob's best of three sports was just about impossible. He seemingly could do it all. Jacob was first noticed for competing with incredible desire in track. His earliest success came in the long jump while making it to the State 4A meet as a sophomore after placing third in the region and second at districts. It became evident, though, that his best events were running 400 and 200 meters. As a junior and senior, Jacob set school records of 47.78 in the 400 and 21.78 in the 200. He won the State 4A 400 meter title twice, was second in the 200, placed third in the long jump, as well as ran a leg on the title winning 4x400 relay team. He won several regional and district championships as well.

Jacob set school records on the gridiron for season rushing with 1,732 yards as well as 322 yards in a game. He was named to "All-State" first teams by both the Associated Press and Tacoma News Tribune. Jacob was also a member of "All Big-9" football teams twice.

On the wrestling mat, he placed as high as third at the State 4A Championships at 189-lbs., finished second regionally, and won two district titles. Jacob earned ten letters and received the "Panther Best" award as well as numerous team honors. He was named "NCW High School Male Athlete of the Year" twice.

At Washington State, Jacob began as both a football and track athlete before specializing as a 400 and 200 meters runner who placed as high as fifth in the Pac-12 400 championships. While competing for the Cougars, he was a four-time "NCW Sports Awards College Athlete Finalist."
