Tenderloin Bowl XXII
Marauders mop-up Saltamontes, 32-30
BUFFALO, NY Twenty-one years of "wait till next year" became "the king is dead, long live the king" as the Marauders ruled over the 2011 BSFL season. But it certainly wasn't a snap with a skinny two point lead under the lights Monday night. The Saltamontes still had a pair to count - defensive backs Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman. Manhart bigheads had to endure multiple potential disasters as Chancellor and Sherman had their mitts on errant passes (once, they both had a shot at a pick on the same pass), but came up empty-handed.
The Marauders mounted a slight advantage, in what was a see-saw battle, as Eli Manning chucked for 400 yards, including a pair of post-toasters to earn Tenderloin Bowl MVP honors. On the receiving end, Wes Welker and Jordy Nelson each palmed scoreboard blinkers among 86 and 81 yards, respectively. Frank Gore's loaf lugging housecall along with 72 yards were also monumental for Manhart.
Sunnyslope had a crack at the cup with a slight 680 to 669 edge in total offense as Tony Romo triggered the attack by hitting four zone zingers among 321 yards. Toby Gerhart pounded-out 90 yards on the turf and added a receiving trey, John Kasay booted 10 points through the uprights, but the receiving corps was denied admission to the promised land.

Porterhouse Bowl XXII
Equis embalm Bashers, 37-27
MOOSE JAW, SASK. The Equis kept the Bashers at bay while mounting an impressive 932 to 645 yard advantage in total offense which included 413 yards receiving. Surprisingly, it was yo-yo lineup selection Shonn Greene who came through in game MVP fashion by packing the bladder for 129 yards, including one plane penetrator, and also palmed passes for 58. Pass snatchers Larry Fitzgerald, with a counter among 149 yards, Roddy White, also with a TD catch among 84, and Steve Johnson's grabs for 116 made a big difference. Of course, old reliable Tom Brady did his share, too, by connecting on a trio of treys among 357 yards passing.
Basically, it was the Spaethcadet 'D' that kept the Bashers from being ground into the pavement. And the leader of the stop corps was Jason Babin who flipped three flapjacks and also caused a fumble. Although LeSean McCoy only rushed for 38 yards, he made the most of those carries by cashing two paychecks.

Sirloin Bowl XXI
Eddies egg Blowhards, 27-17
MULE SHOE, TX Clearly, it was the Eddies' 'No Haskell' defensive unit that earned Seashrein the victory paced by Sirloin Bowl MVP Terrell Suggs who planted the passer three times and forced a trio of upchucks. Philip Rivers was on target for three scoreboard blinking connections among 240 yards through the air, and Reggie Bush zig-zagged for 103 rushing yards to key the attack.
The Blowhards held a slight 615 to 591 yard offensive edge, but their defense didn't produce nearly enough to match Seashrein. Most of Big Horn's firepower was packed into Mason Crosby's foot as he booted 16 points 'tween the tines.

Chuck Bowl XIX
Sylvesters stun Casualties, 44-43
CHIHUAHUA, MEX. The Casualties were up by 15 points into Monday mayhem and had Earl Thomas on the field. But the Sylvesters still had claws extended with a pair of pigsnout packers - Marshawn Lynch and Steven Jackson. While Thomas went quietly into the night, Lynch went into 'Beast Mode' by pinballing for 115 yards including a plane penetration. Although not as spectacular, Jackson added 63 yards rushing, including one to paydirt, and 60 more snatching tosses to bump the Poody 'Tats past Fifth Street by a scratch.
Haglund was able to lurk around thanks in large part to Chuck Bowl MVP Rob Gronkowski's 160 yards grabbing air biscuits along with two to tango. As usual, Aaron Rodgers was better than good by pitching a pair to the promised land among 281 yards, and Mike Nugent sent 13 points over the crossbar. Playing with attitude, the Poody 'Tat defense scratched out a meaningful effort paced by Cliff Avril's pair of pancakes and forced fumble.
Fifth Street seemed on the road to victory with a spread formation that produced 431 receiving yards and held a 850-727 total yardage advantage. The receivers were indeed impressive as Marcus Colston caught a pair of scoreboard blinkers among 105 yards, Antonio Brown hauled-in 151 yards worth of aerials, including a toaster, Steve Smith palmed air biscuits for 125, and Dez Bryant made a housecall among 50 yards. The onslaught didn't stop there, either, as Drew Brees uncorked passes for 337 yards including two touchdown tosses, and David Akers booted 13 points 'tween the tines. The league's worst defense proved they deserved to be in the basement, however, which proved to be the Casualties' downfall.

Hamburger Bowl XXII
Grunts grease Chiggers, 33-32
Chatham wins, Hamburger Series, though, 69-66
HUMPTULIPS, WA The Grunts used a one-man scoring machine named Maurice Jones-Drew to get the tater into the zone any way he could. MJD did the bidding by finding paydirt twice on the ground among 85 yards, and adding two more scoreboard blinking receptions among 51 to earn Hamburger MVP. Backfield mate Roy Helu was also productive by scooting for 126 yards and Matthew Stafford connected on a pair of scoring strikes among 227 yards to lead Orondo to a slight 689 to 675 advantage in total offense.
The Chiggers went toe-to-toe, and almost caught the Grunts on Monday when Chris Clemons popped the passer for a sack. The Itchy & Scratchy defense, tops in the BSFL, was a force as Jared Allen smooshed the quarterback three times, and Jason Pierre-Paul had a pair of sacks along with a forced upchuck. Ray Rice scored a rushing touchdown among 103 yards, Hakeem Nicks hauled in air biscuits for 154, Ben Roethlisberger gutted-out two toastworthy completions among 280 yards, and Stephen Gostkowski booted 10 points through the uprights for Chatham.
Although the Chiggers lost the battle, they won the war by outscoring the Grunts 69-66 in the two game Hamburger Series.
