Byron Leftwich, QB
Contract Details: Signed August 12 after a 19-day holdout. $10.9 million in signing and option bonuses ($3 million immediately, $7.9 million in March 2004). 2003 cap number $1.73 million; 2003 base salary $1.39 million. 2004 base salary: $305,000. 2005 base salary: $380,000. 2006 base salary: $4 million. 2007 base salary: $5.5 million. Sixth and seventh year will be voided and are in the contract to lower the salary cap number of the first season (the $3 million bonus is spread over seven years instead of five). $500,000 bonus if Leftwich plays in 35% of the plays in any of the first three years. Escalator clauses kick in if Leftwich plays 55% of the plays in two of the first three years or 70% in one year. Leftwich can earn up to $7 million more in incentives/milestones, according to the Associated Press.

Contract Details: The Saints and Bennett agreed to a two-year contract on March 17, 2006. The deal is worth $3 million and includes a signing bonus of $1 million, ESPN.com reported. Michael was subsequently traded to the Chiefs.

Kasay received a $2 million signing bonus and is scheduled to earn $6.1 million in base salary over the life of the contract. He will also receive $200,000 bonuses if he's on the roster in 2005 and 2007.
