Bradley bops Dufner by a pop in 3-holer

Hemen double whammy at PGA to cap incredible campaign

OMG, OMG! What the Hemen did to the helpless, hapless WooGA bordered on criminal assault as Herring Manhart shattered the previous moola standard, set in 2007, by an incredible 454 smackers. Along the way, the Hemen managed to establish records for Most Tournaments in the Money with 15, Most Tournament Firsts or Seconds with 13 (48% of stops on the 29th WGA Tour), and tied the record for Most Tournament Titles with 7 (Doc Davenport in 1992). Not a bad year.

At the PGA, Herring Manhart looked vulnerable with a skinny three stroke advantage over Gerry Nielsen into the final round, but the 'roids kicked in to help the Hemen pad their advantage by another trio of pops. The medalist title also went the Hemen's way at the expense of the Flossies as Keegan Bradley clipped Jason Dufner by a whack in a 3-hole playoff.

Aided by a couple of thirds - at the PGA and in WGA Season Team Scoring - the Trudies became the ninth member of the WooGA's 8 Grand Club.

On the flipside, the Jammers began the tournament with high hopes and a full contingent of 10 golfers in the field. In keeping with a pattern of performance established during 26 previous stops, Jeff Mertes only had three hackers make the cut.

The Season Team Scoring Derby was a saunter to the finish line as the Hemen padded their cushion by 17 over the Strokers to win skipping away with a 108 stroke surplus. Although the Trudies made up two on the Strokers battling for second, they still lacked 137 swipes. The tightest meaningful fracas, between the Trudies and Bogey Dukes for third and fourth spots, was thwarted by Moore Bra who beat Fulbright Dowell by one at the PGA to finish 18 ahead. The P.Sies, with a chance to take the last money spot, fizzled and actually fell 17 strokes farther behind the Bogey Dukes.

In the Season Medalist Melee, Hacker Zach Johnson pulled the ol' hidden ball trick to pop into the top spot among individual whackers eight better than Heman Hunter Mahan. Mahan held on to second, four better than Stroker Spencer Levin after posting one less than his challenger at the PGA.

The WooGA bows down to the Hemen, but looks forward to getting something back in the way of a round of libations from the undisputed champions at the 30th WGA draft next January.
